So why the hell am I writing about that in my blog, 10 years later?
Last night i chilled with a buddy of mine, Matt Nabo, who happens to be an amazing designer/illustrator/creative. The two of us put our heads together and came up with a T-shirt design, marking the 10th anniversary of life without Danny VanderMost.
On May 10th, a bunch of my Dad's friends will ride in his memory from Middleboro, MA, where he raised his kids, to Providence RI, where he grew up. I offered to design a shirt for them to wear as a united front in his honor.
A ton of ideas ran through my head when Matt asked 'well what do you want it to look like?' My dad was a simple guy. He wore a black t-shirt, levis, and a leather jacket almost every day. He had a pet iguana, a garage full of motorcycles, and a 1972 Caddy with a custom paint job. When it comes down to it, my dad was pretty fucking cool. It wasn't going to be hard to create something that symbolized what he represented and make it wearable at the same time.
This is the preliminary design. I have to give Nabo full credit, the man is one talented artist. Check it out, maybe leave a comment or two.
